Here at Green Pastures we are fortunate enough to have a wonderful band of volunteers who come in and help in all sorts of ways. They come and spend time reading to our residents who would otherwise find it difficult to read a newspaper, and we have a very talented gardening team who volunteer in all weathers and seasons to ensure our residents have a beautiful space to enjoy. Volunteers also help facilitate our Nostalgia Café run for those in the community who are caring for a loved one with Dementia.
Our Residents love their Knit and Knatter sessions – another one run by volunteers – and we have musical volunteers who bless us with their voices and musical prowess on our beautiful grand piano, or a guitar. Music really does lift our spirits.
If you would like to join our friendly volunteers please do get in touch. No skills are necessary – just patience, kindness and love! Our volunteers generally go back feeling better than they did when they arrived – which is what giving is all about.
