The Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home community

Green Pastures has 60 private en suite rooms, all equipped with state-of-the-art height-adjustable, low-profiling beds and pressure relieving mattresses for the safety and comfort of our residents. All of our rooms are fully furnished. However, you are welcome to personalise your room with the addition of your own treasured possessions – please speak to a member of the management team about this.

Community is important at Green Pastures and, as such, we are fortunate to offer a number of large, airy lounges for the use of our residents and their families. The lounges are the heart of the home; they host birthday parties, services, activities and pleasant dining experiences. These are the places where it all happens. If the hustle and bustle of community life is not for you, then you may enjoy a good book, conversation or listening to music.

Green Pastures is fortunate to benefit from a beautiful enclosed sensory garden where you might enjoy an afternoon cream tea in the dappled shade. The surrounding mature trees provide a natural habitat for the local squirrels and bird life.

Green Pastures in-house laundry is ably managed by Yvonne, our cleaning and laundry supervisor. She and her team work hard to ensure that your surroundings remain fresh, clean and comfortable.

We go out of our way to laugh together, pray together and celebrate each other’s achievements. Your safety and well being is our prime concern, as such we offer a state of the art nurse call bell system, which will keep you in close contact with our staff 24-hours a day, wherever you are within our home. Green Pastures has a robust fire safety system which is frequently checked in line with best-practice health and safety guidelines.

Relatives and friends

Typical day

8-10am
Residents choose when to wake and are encouraged to get themselves ready for the day, although help is always at hand. Breakfast is available either via room service or served in the dining room.

9.45-10am
Staff gather for prayer, with residents most welcome to join if they would like to.

10.30am
Morning tea or coffee with friends and catching up with the day’s news and events.

12.30pm
Lunch. All meals are freshly cooked on the premises, with flexibility for individual tastes and dietary needs.

2.30pm
Activities such as: quizzes, flower arranging, bingo, games, movement to music, fitness & motivation, sing-along and concerts. Green Pastures Christian Nursing home has a well attended church service on a Wednesday afternoon facilitated by our Chaplain who leads a regular quiet time where residents who wish to, can receive communion. 3pm
Residents often have a rest, enjoy a cup of tea with visiting friends and relatives, or go on an outing somewhere special.

3.30pm
Afternoon tea. Cake, fruit platters and sometimes a cream tea greatly enjoyed by all.

5.30pm
Dinner. A lighter meal of the resident’s choice.

7pm
Hot drinks are served. The kitchen is open all night should one desire a snack at 3 in the morning. Midnight feasts allowed.

Evening
Winding down in the evening hours might involve reading, watching television or just chatting with friends and relatives who are welcome at any time.

Food and drink are an important part in all of our lives and a particularly enjoyable experience at Green Pastures Christian Nursing home. The opportunity to share a meal together and enjoy socialising with friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Our experienced chef ensures that every meal is not only delicious but reflects each individual’s likes, dislikes and dietary needs.
